About Us

Our Chairman of the Board

Luke Shanks has been a longtime volunteer, and is looking forward to serving Montrel Living in a greater capacity.

He has two main focuses for 2022:
1. Build out the Board of Directors.
2. Balance the immediate needs with the long-term vision for the Montrel Living facility.

OUR PROGRAMS

  • COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Our organization welcomes the idea of working with other non-profits, companies, and businesses, to meet the needs of our Veteran community.

  • VOLUNTEERS

We mobilize our teams of volunteers to make a real difference. Join us and see what can be accomplished when you get an impassioned team to focus on change.

  • COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Our community is full of people who want to help our Veterans. Montrel Living works with other non-profits to provide services with Vets in need.

About

  • Improve their quality of life by providing supportive services to Veterans of the Armed Services and assist the lives of the underprivileged in the community.

  • Our 501 3c tax-exempt non-profit organization is 100% volunteer. We rely on the community for our financial resources with fundraisers, events, private donations, and online donations. Our collaboration with other non-profits, agencies, and companies all contribute to our daily operations. Only about 10% of our operating cost is government-funded. Because of not having a grant writer our submissions for grants are limited.

  • Since 2007 we have served over 200 veterans to help them transition from mental institutions and deprive homes and back into the communities and be productive citizens. We no longer have our transitional housing. We closed down around the COVID pandemic. Currently, we provide clothing, shelter, food, and emergency funds for our veterans. Especially our veteran women. We have collaborated with another non-profit to house single female veteran women with kids.

OUR VOLUNTEERS

Veterans make up roughly 11% of adults experiencing homelessness.
